The Abortion-Crime Link has been discredited
I don't have time for a post, but it's a realizatoin. I've been so happy (probably the backfire effect) about hearing the Abortion-Crime link. First I could say that crime is at an all time low (against my mother), and abortion (which I'm pro-choice) is a factual and logical choice rather than a subjective "Save the Children" approach that I care less about.
But it's been mostly discredited with data and research which I found on reddit and some other quick research I found that explains "https://www.themarshallproject.org/2014/11/24/10-not-entirely-crazy-theories-explaining-the-great-crime-decline#.3VwEyrVHG10 (not entirely crazy) theories explaining the great crime decline."
So I'm a little sad that the abortion argument doesn't work anymore, but since it's logical, I'm happy I figured it out before I continued using that argument with bad conclusions to data.
Also, on a side note, this is the first time that using an old book or old data has made a difference in my life. The old conclusions which have later been discredited which I didn't know until today have led me to use that as my strongest pro-choice argument. But that was written in the 90's, and I assumed that nothing had changed.
