Shout Outs 2016, never finished
I started this last year, and I never finished it. It's a shame because some of the people I love didn't actually end up with some lines written about them, but what's the harm in sharing it. Maybe... I forgot what I wrote.
With landscapes and blue skies and summer arriving
And in just a month I will be back to driving.
I wanted to reflect on my thoughts and some friends
Spread some love and my feelings and make some amends.
Why are you listening to what I have to say?
Frankly you're better off going to play
Although if you're reading this I hope you enjoy
Will I go deep and in depth in my brain that's a void.
So first as I'm thinking towards the beginning of the year,
I didn't live life nor did I live in cheer.
Locked in the booth thinking it 'twas a cabana
I didn't realize I was going bananas.
Now I do have to say I couldn't screw up when isolated
Because now I have some actions I like to keep truncated.
Apologies to go around and many to thank
For the wisdom they deposited in my think-tank.
For the fun that I had and the silliness they jest
And now I am realizing that it 'twas the best.
So here comes the shout outs in really no order
And also please pardon my poetry disorder.
So first is someone I've gotten to know 'bout last Christmas
She seemed that she'd be quite a beautiful mistress
In White Christmas where she had danced just superb
Her dancing abilities almost make me disturbed.
But as I had sat in a spotlight in stress
She seemed to be perfect in grace and caress
Emma Sample a while ago I've made it a goal
To dance with you once and try to control
All of my flimsy limbs just do dance in a square
To pretend that I could throw you way up in the air
Now I know you better now, and realize you're great
As a person, a friend, and also a classmate
So thanks for the smiles and the fun conversation
In second period band and being my flotation
To escape the crap mornings of boring and tiredness
And let my brain smile and wake up and success.
I'll see you again I do hope sometime soon
Maybe something in the summer during one afternoon.
Another person I'd met who I've never known
While I had still felt I'd been somewhat alone
We talked for a bit and becoming friends gradually
Someone who I'd only known quite casually.
Until later on when we went on a trip
We held hands ascending or when we would dip
Even though that plane safety has gotten much bigger
People develop irrational fears? I don't know but I figure
The media, movies or something on TV
But I understand I am ENTP.
And I know that I think "plane unsafety" is crazy
But maybe I have been just a tad lazy
In explaining the safety with basically no risk
Of a crash anything. Planes are not brisk.
That's beyond the point there's my debate mind speaking
But Jessica, thanks for the friendship, the fun, and the sleeping.
Next is a guy whose ridiculous but great.
A fantastic smart-aleck who I think's oblate
To screwing with Unti or messing with Vaughn,
It makes me sad to think, that he will be gone.
The perfect ideas and the mastermind that makes them
Who will be next to demine and cause mayhem?
You're never un-time and you're one of the prime
people I enjoy seeing, when it is show-time.
So a quick little thanks to my friend Andrew Myers
May your jokes and your fun never ever expire.
And now that I'm working at Windows Direct
Thanks for getting me a job I well respect!
Another quick shout real quick to Brad Rineheart
For some wonderful performances contained in fine art
Journey over, high school's ended
And your talents completely expended.
So I hope you have a happy... ever after (ever after)
I will truly miss the laughter.
Another quick shout out to an original goon
I'll have to use that Vive so I can get swoon
But the memories in years past so extremely vast
And the rotunda days last year were a blast
I was disappointed back stage, it was boring as hell
No balls being thrown before this year's farewell.
I'm starting to think is tech crew any fun
Without you, Tomasso, Tomko, Matt Schott, are the goons done?
Nick Wiggers I'll see you this summer I hope
And I hope that tech crew without you will cope.
Someone has waited as we talked superficially
And once we even got - just a tad frisky
But besides that one night with unusual treasures
I enjoyed the good talks you and I had in good measures
The rock paper scissors - and lizard and Spock
The bacon fries that we shared in our eating jock.
I guess it's not superficial as I think and reflect
I'm glad I now know you and we did connect
My speeding ticket was a blessing, not a curse
I got to know so many of you rather than just disperse.
Like Jojo whom I had brought coffee to you
But you gave it up for lent as you had askewed.
Anyways whose next? I'm saving some for later.
Why am I asking myself this? For I'm the creator.
Matt Slisko you're up as you're fresh in my mind
I'm honestly scared as you leave behind
This MakerBot garbage that barely prints
It only gets clogged and fails and hints
That it's broken, defective, or just really dumb
I might toss it off a cliff and decide to go numb.
But being together with a bunch of friends
Makes it better but soon Makerbot will come to an end
When you leave and it's broken quite beyond repair
And that's when I'll throw it straight into the air.
In summer gym, you sat and reminded me of Myers
As you sat on a hoop when I could only touch the wires
Tech crew was good too when I had time to see you
But Pla disallowed me to hang and debut.
I'll give you a call every now and then
And I'm sure I'll see you in the summer again.
Zinkan I feel you have interesting talents
But I never had enough time to understand or balance
To know you beyond some superficial wall
But the memories we did share I'll remember them all
From the days at the gym skipping mass to play basketball
To the time in a locker room and the fear we installed
Upon oursleves thinking "What if Banks came 'round the corner"
And we started to sneak around like an illegal foreigner.
Part of me hates skipping mass, but I really get bored
I feel like an imposter when I go aboard.
I appreciate the community and all of the good
But mass to me is often misunderstood.
But beyond Robotics give me something to do
And I'm glad to be fixing the Makerbot with you.
We went down to Lowe's to buy lubricant
But you, me, and Slisko were all quite ruminant
About what foods to buy when we went to Wallmart
We bought four pounds of Sour Patch which was tart.
And who is going to pay for all of this?
Charge it to Robotics as we would remiss.
With four for the lube, and twenty in food?
I doubt that you'll ever be reimbursed I conclude.
But thanks for the fun and the time that we shared
I'll always remember you as a good person who cared.
Ryan Kosevar I also wish I knew you better
But the times that shared in tech crew were a pleasure
You're infinite mind, your diploma that shines
You'll do something great, not sit in the sidelines.
One day I will play you in rocket league
But I still feel like you'll crush me like the blitzkrieg.
Rachel Greene I've never thought you were such a friend
Until just about now towards Junior year's end.
I regret that because you're so fun to hang out with
'Cause right now I feel like your mind is a myth
And now that I know your personality
I'm so excited we both think critically
I now have a friend to share all my weird thoughts to
And talk to when Clayton leaves and makes some breakthroughs
And same thing with Pla, I'd enjoy hours of conversations
About thoughts, plots, and plans right into negation
Of boundaries, limits, and reality
And point out some faults and sometimes disagree
But it was ok because logic was used
And self-improvement was only infused
I'm glad so at least think I have such great a friend
And I hope that the feeling is the same on both ends.
I can't mention Rachel without Rosey Antol
And Ashley don't worry, you will be recalled
You're someone whose special to just say the least
No passive-aggression there, you're love is released
I'll never forget hand-stand contests and bike rides
Human mario kart on a bike which homicides
And we fell and we failed and the thing just tipped over
Pretty much like one of Nasa's lost rovers.
I'm happy to see of our friendship's extension
And may the fun times continue their ascension.
Back to the goons and robotics there's always been one
Who had my back and included me in the fun
I tried to do sandwich club but that will go away
I will miss the food and the fun and gorumet.
This imaginary token of appreciation - goes out to you
For being my friend and fixing that (god damn) makerbot too.
Unloading and loading and unloading and loading
And still unloading and loading and mostly just groaning
And hoping that one of these times filament will extrude
And then we'd take the thing apart and I was imbued
To fix it and learn it and fuss with it next year
Until that damn printer would finally be clear
Of the jam or unleveling that would cause it to stop
Or the crap software running on that laptop.
See you soon - so I hope - until the fun commences
Without you to fix things I'll realize the expenses
Of the work you put in and the great time we had
And I hope that your future will hold nothing bad.
Another quick shout out to Paul Bukovac
For making me smile and the funny feedback
Through the comments and references that make school so funny
It's almost as if you were getting paid some amount of money
I look forward to working with you in robotics next year
And I hope without the seniors we'll still have some cheer
A person who I've found to be a great artist
Is Rachel Krophf who will admit she's not the smartest
Of my math class in Vaughn which she sometimes slept through
As she and the match class laughed as I went through
The door where Vaughn and I had little battles
Of me being smart and him being a tattle
To the deans which we all had laughingly thought
He really should calm down and boy should he ought
To learn to take a few jokes here and there
I'm not sure if he appreciated me pulling his hair
But that's not to say that I'd lost all respect
And I would like to hear his stories of intellect
Maybe I've always felt 'twas a competition
Between me and him, winning was always my mission.
But Rachel had always had asked how my day was
And I would say "good" which was usually true 'cause
9th period was a joke in his math class for me
I'd still get an A through his tests and the glee.
But Rachel - thank you for always checking in
I hope that you're art skills give you confidence within!
Another senior I'd met towards the end of the year
I had sat next to her asking questions in some fear
She colored relaxed as I made some conversation
But within ten minutes we made some relations
I talked about how I liked coloring books
And she looked up and gave me an exultant look
And I asked her what her life for the last 4 years have been like
Who knew me and her had commonalities alike.
I have to admit that I'm jealous of her,
I always see snapchats of Cameryn and Skylier
They took their friendship to a whole new level
With sleepovers and dancing while I felt like a devil.
I wish I had a friend where we'd lay down on straw
But my parents wouldn't like it and lay down the law.
Skylier Smith, thanks always being so happy it's true
I hope next year you're not just a friend that I knew.
I have to make yet, another quick shout out
To a fellow team mate who I miss being without
It's been several years since I've been on the team,
But my inner monkey's still in my bloodstream.
I miss swinging around on the rings or the high bar
And dream of the days when I could have been a star
Jareth Marlow, I miss the days of being a gymnast
I wasn't that good. I wasn't the fittest.
But every now and then I think back to 8th grade
And I think about how you would always pervade
A great sense of teamwork and encouragement to stay
You had always supported me with nice things to say
I'll be back once or twice for boot camp this summer
But I fear that my friends have moved onto another
Career or a college far off in the distance
But I'm sure that they're still doing well with persistence.
I'll try and make sure to face time you this summer
I'll try to stop by too, I won't be a bummer.
Marina Ward, I think you have made an amendment
Through bowling, the chats, and even during the commencement
But most of all I enjoy your smile
At honey hut when we talked for what I wish was a while.
Bri Boyko last year I honestly thought you were crazy
But honestly I pre-judged and was kind of lazy
I didn't look deep into any of the cracks
And I chose to ignore which just held me back
From getting to know you, your smile, your talents
Which put my pre-judgements right out of balance
When you had a Disney party and jumped in your pool
I said to myself that this was kind of cool
I noticed the effort into every detail
And then I had known that I must countervail
My ignorance, arrogance, and slight egotistical self
And immediately I put that all back on the shelf
I saw Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat
The songs are being sung in my mind all afloat (e.g. stuck in my head; couldn't rhyme that)
I'm glad to know you now for whom you really are
Let's hang out a few times since you're really not far!
(And I'm sure it's crossed your mind, What it is you have to find, Find a man to lead you through the famine, With a flair for economic planning....... it's stuck in my head :)
The next message is to a friend I made yesterday
Well, I knew you, like sort-of, but not in the same way.
I first really met you at Blasio's house
I felt insecure as I walked into that slaughterhouse
Which is definitely an exaggeration, I just had no rhyme
I'd have to make friends besides tech crew sometime.
And as soon as I got there I knew it paid off
My introvertness became opposite and my confidence blasted off
And soon I was playing cards against humanity
But I didn't get the references, so I lost my sanity
But I suppose it was better than being on the bus
"Nice weather." "Sure is" so we had discussed.
And the beginning was 90% awkward conversation
But now we understand each other's situations.
I feel like now we are friends on some level
And now I think of you as being special.
We looked at each other the night of the musical
Listening to harsh rap, I could tell the feeling was mutual
We both kind of sat in the back kind of awkwardly
And though I was uncomfortable I tried to act properly.
We went to the pool and then everyone ditched me
Playing marco-polo 'till I found you were actually
All in the hot tub, you got out of the pool
But it was not mean-spirited and so it was all cool.
I forgot what we were talking about but we went on a rant
So I'm much happier now that I can recant
Those awkward tensions from when we first met
And I look forward our friendship with a positive mindset.
Nikki Flors and Paige Walters I'm combining you both
Both of you give me experiences, but I'm open to growth
To the silly ideas that wind up in your head
That once in a while make me wish I was dead
Not literally of course, but you know what I mean
I remember the days back when I was fourteen.
But all of your silliness I have to admit
Is one of the reasons why I will not quit
Trying to assist teaching the material I do not know
Now that my attendance is intermittent, my abilities rather blow.
One day I'd like to talk and see what goes on in your minds
And one day I'll invite you to my house when I have the time.
I'll figure out more about this kid named Dan
What would Dan do? Who is this guy? What is his game plan?
And it's no longer weird and we're hopefully better friends
Maybe we'll do a podcast on different odds and ends.
Both of you think a lot, and I am intrigued
But to find out, I'm often somewhat fatigued.
Maybe I come off as too annoyed or too tired
But maybe that's because I am sort of required
To act the slightest bit professional and be the "adult"
To teach you until mastery I'm supposed to exult.
I'm happy to be in a class with you goofballs
You cheer me up and make me happy so I don't break walls. (Was that Justin who did that? I don't remember)
Another person who I'm excited to see
You know a lot more taekwondo than me
Which I'm glad because I without you teaching is terrible
And teaching the forms is only slightly more bearable
The politics, ideas, the hypotheticals we discuss
The arguments I form, devil's advocate I often fuss
When I put my thoughts on the starter
I talk with you and I become quite a bit smarter
I'll discover how our economy or world works
Or I'll laugh uncontrollably at all the dumb derks (made up; means stupid people; needed a rhyme)
Even though I know you are off traveling
I love discussing and see your thoughts unraveling.
I'm glad you're back and I'll see you this summer
Maybe come to my house, play a game, not be bummers.
But thanks for the wisdom and the knowledge you bring
I'm looking forward to summer before you leave 'till next spring.
Another person who provided some comic relief
Was Lauren Demarchi even though it was brief.
Although Chinese wasn't actually too hard
The stressful "qing anjing" environment had caught me off guard
You've offered me smiles and have made me happier
In a class that would often make me feel crappier.
I wish I could drive and go see your state finals
And see all your accomplishments and your trials.
I don't think that I've ever seen you at any of our shows
But it still feels like I've missed an experience to go.
And see a great team win finals so happy in spirit
And all of Walsh be so happy and atmospheric.
Thanks for a good year
And spreading some cheer!
A shout out to Skupski, my gymnastics coach for a while
I haven't seen him recently, but he still makes me smile
And let me go into time machine mode for a minute
Before I talked about how Gym World sometimes had win it
I remember Brian, Greg Ganahm, and also Chris Tollon
Before Skup came to gym world and started rollin.
He shaped me in ways which are embarrassing now
But I was quite young, I wish he knew me now.
Of all of the people I doubt that you'll see this screen
But I'm wondering now how everything has been.
When I was nine social norms I transgressed
I hope all is great and I wish you the best!
Skylier's best friend and a good friend of mine.
We talk about life and weird things all the time.
Her snap chats are usually somewhat hilarious
She takes pictures with cats, whose breeds are all various.
When we went to Disney, she was fantastical
Even when I was tired, she made me feel magical.
When I needed some fun, or maybe felt done
I felt come compassion and empathy unlike anyone.
And even now three months after that trip
I really miss you and that closer friendship
So maybe I'll stop sitting and waiting to be invited
And pick a date to go to Cedar Point and get excited
To take you and so many of my other friends
Before college starts and the good times make their ends
As you and all the seniors go off to college
You'll learn, party, have fun, and gain knowledge.
"To master the methods [your] artist demands
To translate a thing from the eye to the hands"
In acting, in business, or drawing whatever,
I know you'll make the most out of any endeavour.
Stay tuned for a call or a text from me soon
I'd like to get out of my house's cacoon.
I send you dumb pictures like all of the time
You're one of my go-tos when I have a rhyme
Or an idea, or a thought that goes into my head
When I have time to think usually just before bed
And sometimes I feel bad, I keep you up for hours
But I hope that those thoughts aren't just mine, but are ours.
Maybe I just think about other people too much
But I know that we haven't really gotten in touch
Unless you're just an introvert, but you're also an actress
But you're different I feel, something about your tactics?
I don't really know how to explain what I feel
We both are a bit silly but some thoughts we conceal.
When Isabelle and I do something in July
I'll make sure to ask you if you want to stop by.
Go down by my creek and hike to a pond
I may not know you well now but yet I am fond
When I walk into the theater and hear a loud laugh
Before walking to the booth and working on my monographs
Of homework, lighting, robotics, or poems
To all of the people in which I owe 'em.
Thank you for all of your appreciation
I hope my silliness doesn't lead to our cessation
And thank you for always making confirmation
That I'm not annoying you through my conversations
From hippos eating watermellons in an amusement park
To appreciating songs such as Quarter Chicken Dark
Or a clip to show how much everyone in a movie gets paid
And this, and this, and this, and this
But also that, and this, or this abyss.
Or what do you call a terrorist's girlfriend? You may
Call her a Guantanimo Bae.
How many Mexicans does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Just Juan
How many lightbulbs does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Think one?
I suppose it depends on how clumsy you are.
This too is relevant, but a little bizarre.
I'm looking forward to one last brilliant year
Sadly one last year see all of your cheer!
I can't believe my time here has gone so fast
With all of the homework, I feel so harassed
I regret all of the chances I haven't taken
And only this year I have really awakenW
From my introverted-ness to my outgoing self
Where there are no rules, I play devil's advocate
To discover and learn, this year will be lit.
Not to dwell on the subject, but I'm feeling the effect
Of the seniors all leaving and all the aspects
Of the 95% I won't ever see again
But oh my God what a pleasure it's been :)
Like Tomasso "Lighting the world on fire"
Or Myer's plaque which I'll always admire.
Amanda Krochka, I really know why
You don't share your last name, it doesn't beautify
The person you really are, who I want to work with
To unlock your true personality, which is still a myth
To me at least... But I am thankful
For coming to the booth with me and now to be frankful...
When I felt sometimes during the year
My self-confidence at some lows, I lived in some fear
You'd come to the booth and I'd feel less alone
I'd ask questions hinting a thankful undertone
But thinking back I probably sounded arrogant
And now that only adds to the embarrassment
But truly I'm glad to be working with you
I think back to about one year ago
We talked for an hour, I had an afterglow
My face maybe red and I felt quite frivolous
Just you and me I was trying to be chivalrous.
I won't go into much detail here
But your spirit and warmness was quite endeared.
Thanks for taking care of me while I was at home
Inside the booth when I felt alone
Just the simple conversation was appreciated
So now I feel a little obligated
To be a bit nicer and better and humble
A little less complaining from me? Some less grumbles?
I'll try my best but when I'm sleep deprived
My poorer qualities can sometimes be revived.
You're opinions are voiced and sometimes I disagree
But I'll try to tone down some of my ENTP
My music doesn't suck. I think it's just different
To the mainstream pop songs which are sometimes indifferent
From each other and based of some simple chords
They're enjoyable at times, but at others I'll get bored.
I must lead by example and resist to complain
But that passive-aggressiveness, my defensiveness, I disdain.
But I'm on my path to become a better person
Each year a new me, a whole other version.
Right now I'm currently at Mike Chase 17.1
And I'm ready for another year filled with fun!
[Kaite Valenciano's stanza has been removed because it was borderline disturbing to both me and you. Maybe someone slipped me pot brownies when I wrote it.]
Mia Giantonio, it was quite a year
I came into class all full of cheer *sarcasm*
But thanks for the quizlet and making Dodds fun,
But I'm still much gladder now that summer's begun.
Ok Michael Eckman I'm laughing again
As I watch "Tom the Dank Engine" every now and then.
Watching that video will always remind me
Of my 17th birthday; was not at all crappy.
Although I was sad, Marina couldn't show
I didn't see her, but I'd let it go
As we'd play on some instruments,
There was tons of dissonance
Of the notes and the harmony and the stuff we made-up
Betsy sang and we laughed about the stuff she'd make-up.
It's almost time to make the most of this year,
I know that together, I will have no fear
Time spent together will never be boring
Instead of some others whom I'll be ignoring
Thanks for that CD, you'll see it again.
Around July third, you will see it then.
And now it is time to mention my best friend
I'm not his best friend, but I can't amend
That's Betsy's trophy, and that's their tradition
I love all their habits, they're truly adicted
To silliness, absurdity, and overall careness
They share their great traits with such great largesse.
Clayton I really hate to see you go.
Sometimes we are friends, sometimes we are foes.
We trust each other in so many ways,
But don't share our passcodes oh let me rephrase.
The booth war we had, the selfies you took
The things that I wrote in your macro textbook.
I'm so glad to have experienced this with you
And I'm glad that some times I can see through
Need Isabelle, Pla, Clayton, Ashley, Unti, Joe Manarino, Matt Blasio, Anna Kropf, Mr. Pepperoni, Zac Tomko, Kaite Borovika, Gerry Vilk, Kristen Richardson, Betsy Anderson, Pamela Dovoloski, George Chase Sr, George Chase Jr, Dad, Mom, Natalie, Meghan McDonald, David Banks, Nichole Charnigo, J-Bar, Nate Stocker, Spencer Odom, Chaz Schwenk, Marissa Jurczyk, Kathryn Brahler, Jackie Ward, Z-Tomko, Marina Fazio, Katrina, Lauren Demarchi, Cara Watson, Lauren Tech-Crew, Jessica Minanchillo, Kathryn Herr, Jaime Carlton, Future Tech Crew, Nick Griffiths, Garret, Matt Schott
